Digital Garden - Cultivating Knowledge in the Digital Space
As I explored methods for storing information, I kept coming across the concept of the π± Digital Garden. It's a reimagining of traditional blogs, with the key difference being more "dynamic" content, similar to personal notes.
Everything that catches our attention β thoughts, links, ideas β is presented as short notes. The distinction is that, in a standard blog, we usually publish polished and edited articles, while in a Digital Garden, all "seeds" can be constantly updated. They can be edited and expanded, which makes the process feel more personal and alive. In an offline format, the simplest analogy is your workspace in Obsidian, Notion, or any other tool.
Speaking of Obsidian β it is one of the most popular platforms for developing Digital Garden spaces. Alongside Obsidian, I also use WordPress, Notion, and more specialized "wiki" engines like TiddlyWiki.
However, these spaces can be a perfectionist's nightmare. I tried to create something similar for myself as an experiment, combining it with other methodologies, but when it comes to publishing, it's hard to share "raw" content, even though that's the point.
