The Wrong Kind of Stable
A reflection on realizing that what looked like a lifelong pursuit of stability may have actually been a search for the feeling of moving in the right direction – a distinction that surfaces precisely now, amid the least stable, most uncertain period of his life.
For years, stability was my answer to everything.
"What do you want?" Stability.
I believed it.
Then I'd count the cities. Lose count.
Right now – no permanent status, no certainty about next month, more open questions than I can name.
And yet. Something quiet inside. For the first time in a long time.
Maybe I was never chasing stability.
Maybe I was just chasing the feeling that I'm going the right way.
I don't know how to explain it.
